Writing Groups

The Bard Society is the oldest continuous writing workshop on the First Coast. Workshops are held every Tuesday night. For more information contact Frank Green at 904.398.5352 or send him an e-mail.

The Florida Literacy Arts Coalition was founded in 2004 by Anhinga Press, Fiction Collective 2 and the University of Tampa Press. The Coalition works to advance new writing and independent publishing throughout the state and region.

The Florida Writers Association is Florida’s only statewide, non-profit organization dedicated to the purpose of helping both published and aspiring authors enhance their skills and achieve their goals. FWA publishes a statewide newsletter, holds an annual convention, and achieves networking and education at the local level through group book signing fairs, author’s panels, and workshops.

As a branch of the St. Johns County Public Library System, the Friends of the Library is dedicated to providing an outstanding educational, cultural, civic and recreational center for the Ponte Vedra Beach community.

The North Florida Writers meet at 2 p.m. at Kent Campus of Florida Community College on the second Saturday of every month. Members focus on fiction, non-fiction, and some poetry. Manuscripts are read anonymously and members offer constructive recommendations.
