Sheila Ortiz Taylor is Professor Emerita from Florida State University, having taught fiction writing and literature for thirty-three years. Her first novel, Faultline (Naiad Press 1982), formed part of a Chicana lesbian trilogy that included Southbound (Naiad, 1990) and the academic satire, OutRageous (Spinsters Ink, 2006). Other works include the novels Spring Forward/Fall Back (Naiad 1985) and Coachella (Univ. New Mexico Press, 1998) as well as the family memoir, Imaginary Parents (UNMP 1996). Her most recent novel, Assisted Living, is due out with Spinsters Ink in June 2007. She lives in Tallahassee with her partner of 15 years.
