State Employee Tuition Waivers
Florida Community College welcomes state employees
to enroll in up to six credit hours of courses per term on a space-available
basis.
The College will waive tuition and some fees
for up to six credit hours per term in a valid program working
toward a credential. This includes college-credit instruction,
instruction toward a degree, and instruction toward a workforce
certificate. This waiver applies to state employees
employed full-time at the time of enrollment, excluding those
employed by universities.
If you are interested in taking courses,
follow these steps:
- Make sure you fit the criteria to qualify
for a tuition waiver. You must be a full-time state employee.
Unfortunately, university employees are not eligible.
- If you have not already done so, you should
first complete a Florida Community College membership application.
You can apply online,
or fill one out at any campus. There is a $15 records origination
fee you will have to pay.
- After filling out a membership form, download
and print out the State
Employee Tuition Waiver Program - Intent to Apply form (This form is in PDF format and requires Adobe Acrobat Reader.).
You can also get this form from any campus business office.
Fill out the form, indicating the courses you wish to take and
have your supervisor and agency head sign. We suggest giving
yourself a week or two to fill out the form, to ensure you'll
have the required signatures in time to register.
- Return the completed form to your campus
business office. The business office will begin accepting the
form the Wednesday before the class you are registering for
starts.
- You may then register for the courses you
listed on the form. You can register online through Artemis or on campus. You are registering on a space-available
basis. This means that you can only register after fee-paying students have had the chance to register for the class.
So be prepared for the possibility that your first choice may
be full.
- Please remember that if you register earlier than the Wednesday of the week before the first day of
classes of the term for which you are registering, you will be responsible for paying for all fees and tuition.
- Certain fees are not waived, including lab,
testing, kit, materials and insurance fees.
- If you have any questions, please contact
your campus business office:
