Manufacturing and Industry

Manufacturing is an ever-expanding field across the nation and Northeast Florida is no exception. Here in Jacksonville it’s an industry targeted for every economic development agency. As a result, professionals with technical skills that allow for the successful building and maintenance of production lines will find themselves in high demand and well-rewarded for their skills.

Manufacturing and Industry Programs of Study

Starting those professionals off on the right course is the manufacturing and industry program at Florida Community College. Training in this course of study includes electronics, industrial components, various computer control software and hardware applications, industrial control circuits, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), hydraulics and pneumatics. In addition, students will enroll in specialized automated manufacturing systems courses such as automated process control, assuring them an even greater skill set should as they choose a career path in manufacturing, food, chemical, paper pulp and pharmaceutical industries.
