Information Technology Administration (Web Development Assistant) (6207)

The most common address in business today is the World Wide Web. That means more companies need webmasters and specialists who can develop and design unique, functional Web sites. This certificate program prepares you for entry-level positions in a variety of work environments, including: web development assistant, web developer or web consultant.

The coursework includes microcomputer applications for business and economics, HTML programming, Web site design and development, introduction to digital media, Web site management and readies you for certificate exams. Our relationship with Microsoft’s Developer Network Academic Alliance allows you to download a free, licensed copy of the operating systems, server and developer applications, and programming languages taught in your classes.

Career Opportunities, Rapid Placement
The evolution of the WWW has created an unimaginable demand for webmasters. We offer an intranet site posting jobs targeting FCCJ students, where you may also post your resume and receive e-mails about job-related topics. Our graduates are regularly employed by CSX, JEA, Blue Cross Blue Shield, the city of Jacksonville, Medtronic, Mayo Clinic and other regional employers, including the government and military.

Annual Salaries
Starting salaries for Jacksonville average $32,000–35,000, the Florida average is $42,390 and the national average is $53,030.

Certification and Licensing
This program will prepare you for Web development certification exams.

Articulation
All courses in this technical certificate apply to the Internet Services Technology (Webmaster/Web Development Specialist) A.S./A.A.S. degree program.
