Technical Certificate

Computer Programming Specialist (Java Language) (6158)

The Java language is one of the simplest ways to develop software for multiple-platform environments and the Internet. Java code runs on most computers and operating systems, including UNIX, the Macintosh OS and Windows. It is similar to C Language, but with additional features that help you avoid common programming errors.

This technical certificate is the first step toward a well-paid position in software development as a Java programmer. Your coursework will include fundamental concepts, algorithm design, Websphere programming, Object-Oriented programming, J2EE and many other topics.

Career Opportunities, Rapid Placement
Florida Community College has partnered with manufacturers and employers to develop a workforce certified by Oracle, Microsoft and Cisco. An intranet site posts jobs specifically targeting FCCJ students. You may also post your resume and receive e-mails about job-related topics.
