If there are sufficient financial aid funds available after tuition and fees are deducted, a bookstore authorization will be posted in Connections (Artemis). To view the posting of your bookstore authorization, log on to Connections (Artemis). After you log on using your user name and password, select “financial aid.” If you have been issued a bookstore authorization, the date available and the amount authorized will be displayed at the bottom of the financial aid screen. The amount displayed is the maximum amount you can charge in the bookstore. This is not an additional award! All initial bookstore authorizations will be calculated on your enrollment status prior to the first day of classes. If your enrollment status changes or you become ineligible for financial aid, you may be responsible to pay for your books from your own resources.
How much is my book authorization?
Book authorizations are processed for the lesser amount of $35 x the number of enrolled credit hours or the available amount of financial aid after tuition.

When is the last day to use the financial aid book voucher?
Generally book authorizations are available two weeks before the start of class and continue to be available through the two weeks after the term begins. The book authorization dates are published each term in the class schedule.
How do I use my financial aid book voucher online to purchase my books?
To order books online, enter your Connections (Artemis) account and choose “buy books now.” You will be linked to the College’s online bookstore, and the required books for the classes you are currently enrolled in will display. During the shopping process, you can choose to either pick up book purchases at a campus bookstore or have books shipped to your home address. Shipping costs will be incurred when shipping to your home address but are covered by your financial aid book authorization. During checkout choose financial aid as your payment method.
What if I don’t want to purchase my books from the campus bookstore?
You may request a manual check for book purchases by completing an Exception Request Form available in your campus business office. Exception Request forms may be submitted beginning the first day of classes. The form will require documentation to support the reason for the exception and requested amount. Manual checks will be available within five (5) business days for all approved requests. Note: Manual checks are only available during the first two weeks of the term.
