Goals

  • The conference will take an Interdisciplinary approach and provide information about practices to significantly improve patient safety and quality in healthcare.
  • Facilitate the development of techniques that support a culture of continuous quality improvement and patient safety in hospitals and other healthcare organizations. 

Objectives

Conference participants will be able to:

  1. Apply new ideas to reenergize teams in improvement and innovation
  2. Teach an interactive team exercise focused on improving processes in real-time
  3. Analyze the advantages and disadvantages of real-time, rapid cycle process improvement and contrast the traditional versus a new way of initiating improvement and innovation
  4. Understand research methods to recreate safe places with an ecological lens
  5. Discover patient safety insights from human factors
  6. Define the National patient safety goals for 2008
  7. Strive for excellence in patient safety through legislative reform
