the goal of promoting exceptional patient outcomes, the conference will take a
multidisciplinary approach and provide information about practices to significantly
improve patient safety and quality in healthcare.

Conference Objectives
Conference
participants will be able to:
Facilitate the development of techniques that support a culture of continuous
quality improvement in hospitals and other healthcare organizations
implement HIPAA practices to improve patient safety
reduce the risks of healthcare acquired infections
describe factors affecting
patient safety, the role of evidenced-based design methodology, and tools to improve
patient safety
evaluate new tools designed for reducing medication errors
integrate patient
safety into the curriculum for all healthcare disciplines
review lessons
learned from an organizational crisis
This program is approved for six contact hours for all nurses through the Florida Board of Nursing and through the professional board of regulation for all other disciplines (provider number 50-704), of which two hours meet the biennial requirements for Prevention of Medical Error.
