Meeting Summary - March 18, 2008

Administration (Dr. Don Green chaired the CEOV in Dr. Wallace’s absence.)
1.	Budget Status Steve Bowers distributed and reviewed the handout “Executive Summary of Revenue Estimating Conference of March 11, 2008.” Fifty-three positions were cut in SRA I. Thirteen positions were cut in SRA II. More positions may need to be cut next year because of expected continued losses in state revenue. Dr. Green said 13 programs will be inactivated in order to ensure instructional quality. The legislature is going to act on this budget; no more revenue estimating conferences will be held in this fiscal year. Mr. Bowers said that in April, Dr. Wallace will share with the Board why certain programs should be re-evaluated. In May, a reorganization proposal will be presented to the Board.
Career
1.	Outsourcing Departments Dr. Green said there are currently no plans to outsource departments.
2.	Educational Benefits Our credit hour will cost a little more but will still be less than area universities. Mr. Bowers said the Florida Retirement System is solid. Item will be carried-over.
3.	Career Compensation Recommendations for 2008-09. Bonnie Trenary distributed 2008-09 Compensation Recommendations. Mr. Bowers said Dr. Wallace has said he intends to do a salary increase this time. The administration is not planning any early retirement buy-outs. Green said the document needs to be carried-over for discussion by Dr. Wallace and Dr. Chris Arab, neither of whom was there for this CEOV.
