
Pathways Academy Charter School holding recruitment fair July 28
Pathways Academy, the charter school at Florida Community College’s Downtown Campus, will hold a day-long recruitment fair on July 28, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., for prospective students and their parents. Information sessions will be presented on 30-minute rotations. During the day, the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) will be administered, along with information on application submission, program orientation and enrollment.
Pathways Academy, high school specifically for dropouts between the ages of 16-20, operates under the traditional school year for residents of Duval County but much of what students encounter is nontraditional. Pathways Academy is designed to provide academic, career, character and life instruction in a simultaneous secondary and postsecondary curriculum. This program is offered at no cost to students. Comprehensive case-management services, individualized attention, career development and innovative curricula will lead students on the path to a high-school diploma and high-wage, high-demand jobs in biotechnology, automotive technology, construction, IT, advanced manufacturing and finance.
