Florida Community College at Jacksonville initiates a new speaker series, the Scholars’ Roundtable, with the renowned author, statesman, scholar and diplomat Carlos Fuentes. Fuentes is acknowledged as one of the greatest literary and political figures of the Spanish-speaking world and has received awards from nations around the world. Author of 16 novels, Fuentes has also written for numerous American and European magazines and newspapers. Fuentes will focus his address on the growing issue of immigration.
Dr. Fuentes will meet with media from 6-6:20 p.m. Oct. 23 in the Woodside Room at the Wilson Center prior to his 7 p.m. address. Please note that while cameras are welcome at the media event, filming of the 7 p.m. address is prohibited. A number of tickets are being held for media wishing to attend the address. Tickets are not necessary for the 6 p.m. media event.
