League of Women Voters and FCCJ Women’s Center sponsor free forum Oct. 4: “Does My Vote Count?” featuring LWV National President Mary Wilson

Cost: Free and open to the public

Details: A free forum and panel discussion on the subject “Does My Vote Count?” will be hosted by Mary Wilson, newly elected national president of the League of Women Voters (LWV). A panel of local officials and journalists is being invited to participate. Information will be released as it is confirmed.

According to information published on the LWV Web site, Wilson has been a League member since 1984, serving as president of the New Mexico League from 1999 until 2001. Wilson was elected to a two-year term on the LWVUS national Board as a director in 2004 and was also the organization’s Advocacy Committee Chair until 2006. She was unanimously elected to the national presidency this summer for a two-year term. An attorney for 30 years, Wilson is the managing partner with Aungier & Wilson, P.C.
