Upward Bound students may be eligible for Summer Food Service Program
Students enrolled at the Upward Bound Program at Florida Community College during the summer may be
eligible for free or low-cost breakfast and lunch if they qualify during the school year.
Nutritionally balanced meals will be provided to all children regardless of race, color, sex,
disability, age or national origin during summer vacation when school breakfasts and lunches are not available. All
children 18 years old and younger, if open site, are eligible for meals at no charge and there will be no discrimination
in the course of the meal service. The programs are only approved for geographical areas of need where 50 percent or
more of the children qualify for free and reduced price meals during the school year.
The following sites will be participating in the Summer Food Service program June 5-June 30:
Chartwells at the University of North Florida, 4567 St. Johns Bluff Road South (with breakfast at 7:35-8:35 a.m.;
dinner at 5-6 p.m.); Chartwells on the South Campus of Florida Community College at Jacksonville, 11901 Beach
Blvd. (with lunch at 12:30-1:30 p.m.). Only approved students enrolled in the Upward Bound Program at Florida Community
