Spanish Language for professionals and leisure travelers taught at Florida Community College
Starting in May, Florida Community College will provide a broad range of Spanish language classes for
both working professionals and travelers.
Spanish for Real Estate Professionals will give students total
immersion instruction on such topics as how to describe a house, talk about the price, discuss credit history, explain
closing costs, review home inspections, respond to repair questions and execute a contract. The course meets on Thursday,
Friday and Saturday, May 11 – 13, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuition is $95.
Spanish for Construction Supervisors is designed to improve safety
and productivity on the job site. Supervisors will learn to identify tools, supplies, machinery, explain tasks and give
commands, discuss safety gear and procedures, and respond to emergencies. This class meets on Thursdays, May 25 – June 29
from 5:30 to 9 p.m. The cost is $95.
Everyday Spanish is a beginning level course that teaches handy
phrases, commands and expressions useful for most situations when traveling, such as eating in a restaurant and shopping.
This class meets on Wednesdays, May 24 – June 28, 10 a.m. to noon at the Urban Resource Center. Cost for the class is
$55.
Speaking Spanish Level I will meet on Tuesdays, May 9 – June 27,
at South Campus. Two sessions are scheduled on those dates; 5 to 7 p.m. and 7:15 to 9:15 p.m. This introductory course
will teach students names, objects, formal and informal greetings, numbers, times and days. Oral and written expression
will be emphasized along with basic grammar and spelling. Tuition is $95.
The South Campus is located at 11901 Beach Boulevard and the Urban Resource Center is located at
