Florida Community College North Campus ribbon cutting April 17 to recognize community partners and unwrap renovated nursing, health care facilities

A ribbon-cutting ceremony at the North Campus of Florida Community College on April 17 at 10 a.m. will introduce students and community partners to new and newly renovated facilities. The renovations included equipment for the Advanced Nursing Skills lab valued at more than $300,000 made possible by a $150,000 donation from Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Community partners invited to speak include Catherine Kelly, vice president of public affairs, Blue Cross Blue Shield; Anja Schroeder of Chappell Child Development Centers; and Linda Scott of Follett Bookstores. A short ceremony and ribbon cutting will be followed by tours of the new and renovated areas, including the Nursing lab, Surgical Technology labs, Funeral Services lab, bookstore, classrooms, and a child care playground. On-site will be a $40,000 state-of-the-art electronic mannequin and other equipment to provide the best possible hands-on training for health students.

North Campus is located at 4501 Capper Road. For more information about nursing or other health care programs at North Campus, call the Florida Community College Learner Support Center at 904.646.2300.
