Personal Enrichment classes offered at Florida Community College
Florida Community Colleges Continuing Education has scheduled the following personal enrichment
classes this summer:
Landscape Design for the Homeowner will show students how to
design a customized landscape plan that incorporates native plants, outdoor living spaces, walkways, hedges, flowerbeds,
water features, trees and patios. Taught by Keith Fuller, professional Extension Office horticulturist, the course meets
on Wednesdays, May 24 – June 21, 6:30 to 9 p.m. at South Campus, 11901 Beach Boulevard. Tuition is $95 and includes a
textbook. Spouses may attend free.
Become a Healthcare Advocate for Yourself and Others is a one-night
workshop developed to help caregivers identify resources, avoid potential medical problems and assemble a health care team
for themselves or family members during the care giving process. Taught by Nancy Allen, a registered nurse and geriatric
care manager, the class will meet 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23 at the FCCJ Urban Resource Center, 601 W. State
Street. The cost is $30, and a partner may attend free.
Italian, Ciao! is an introductory level course that focuses on
grammar, pronunciation and common Italian expressions used when ordering from a menu, shopping and getting around Italy.
The class meets on Thursdays, May 18 – July 7, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at FCCJ South Campus. Cost is $55.
