Labor Secretary Chao to keynote Florida Economic Development Summit Oct. 5
Statewide summit will provide interactive dialog for economic leaders

United States Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao will be the keynote speaker at a statewide economic development summit meeting to be held Oct. 5 at Florida Community College at Jacksonville’s Advanced Technology Center.

“Economic Development: Securing Florida’s Future” is a day-long 21st Century Summit hosted by Florida State Senator Ken Pruitt and Florida State Senator Jim King. Invited attendees will hear local and statewide economic experts in three panel discussions: Florida’s Strategic Assets and Opportunities; Business Expansion and Retention; and Business Recruitment. Following each panel discussion will be a related question-and-answer session with interactive dialog on how to improve new business recruitment and retain and expand existing businesses.
