FCCJ Continuing Education launches new Career Development courses
Two new classes designed to enhance the career opportunities and workplace performance of professionals will begin this summer at Florida Community College.
The Managers Toolbox for Success is based on the book 13 Fatal Flaws that Managers Make and provides students with a two-part program for improving outcomes in the workplace. For new or experienced managers, this training examines such mistakes as being a buddy not a boss, failing to set standards and putting barriers on employees, while also identifying ways to build winning teams, meet organizational objectives and boost profits. Taught by Yvonne Fisher, a former top executive and business owner, the class will meet on Wednesday, May 24 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will conclude on Wednesday, June 7, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The class will be held at the Urban Resource Center, 601 W. State Street. Tuition is $79.
The Art of Self-Promotion is a CD-based course that helps both entry-level students and career employees define their unique skills and identify potentially new career paths. Students will learn how to differentiate themselves from the competition, prepare a powerful portfolio that showcases their ideas and accomplishments and successfully perform during the interviewing process. The tuition is $49 and includes an audio CD and textbook. This course is self-paced and does not meet in the classroom.
Students may register online at or in person at any campus. For information, contact Continuing Education at 904.633.8292.
