“Safety Awareness” theme of Second Annual Westside Community Fest December 2 at FCCJ Cecil Center
Florida Community College is hosting its second annual Westside Community Fest on December 2, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at its Cecil Center. The event, sponsored by Inventory Solutions Logistics Corp., CMC Rebar, Eagle’s View Academy and Cecil Pines Adult Living Community, will have a theme of Safety Awareness.
The Community Fest will offer free hot dogs, popcorn and cotton candy, games (for all ages), a silent charity auction and entertainment. For the kids there will be arts and crafts, Santa Claus, a “moonwalk” station and other fun activities. Neighbors can enjoy live music by “Red Letter Bullet.” Shands Trauma One helicopter will be coming in for a landing, as well as the American Red Cross, and their mascot, Ready Red Cross, to promote safety awareness. The Jacksonville Humane Society will also be present.
A silent auction to benefit United Way will give bidders a chance to win golf for four at Deerfield Lakes Country Club, restaurant prizes from St. Johns Seafood, The Mallard Room at FCCJ’s North Campus, and Dave & Busters, as well as valuable packages from the MOSH , FCCJ Artist Series, and Alhambra Dinner Theatre.
