Florida Community College Business Writing Academy provides necessary training for job success
A survey of 150 corporations associated with Business Roundtable, an association of chief executive
officers of leading U.S. companies, has concluded that writing is the “threshold skill” for hiring and
promotion among salaried professionals.
This summer, Florida Community College Continuing Education will offer its popular
Business Writing Academy on Tuesdays, May 23 – June 27, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30
p.m. at the Urban Resource Center, 601 W. State Street.
Taught by professional writer Deborrah Hoag, the six-part series focuses on topics such as grammar and
usage, business writing style, proofreading, letters, memos, reports and proposals. This training is designed for
individuals who need to sharpen their writing skills to improve their current job performance as well as for those seeking
a job promotion.
Tuition for the full series is $275. Individual modules cost $55. Students who enroll in the full
series receive a discount equivalent to one free module. Upon completion of the series, an FCCJ certificate will be awarded.
