Teach First Coast: Florida Community College Alternative Teacher Certification Open House July 19

Florida Community College will host an open house for bachelor-degree-holders seeking certification to become teachers through the College’s “Teach First Coast” program. The open house will be held July 19 at 6:30 p.m. at the College’s Downtown Campus, 101 W. State St., Bldg. A, Room 1068.

Teach First Coast is an alternative certification training that was created to answer the state’s urgent need for new teachers. The program is designed to prepare completers to take the Florida Professional Educator Certification Exam. Classes begin August 29, 2005 and run through May 22, 2006, meeting nights and weekends at the College’s Downtown Campus and Advanced Technology Center.

Those seeking alternative teacher certification must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. To reserve a place at the Open House or for more information, call 904.633.8199 or e-mail Barbara Felder.
