Florida Community Colelge ranks third in nation for (R.N.) nursing degrees
Also in the top 10 in three other associate degree categories

Florida Community College at Jacksonville is the third-largest producer of Associate in Science nursing degrees (R.N.) in the nation, according to an article published in Community College Week, a weekly publication specializing in national community college issues. This ranking is up from fourth the previous year.

Florida Community College is also in the “top ten” rankings for three additional categories. It is ranked fourth in the nation for associate degrees in liberal arts and sciences, general studies and humanities; sixth in associate degrees (all disciplines); and seventh in associate degrees in health professions and related clinical services.

The College also ranked eleventh in the total number of one-year certificates issued and twelfth in the nation for the number of associate degrees conferred upon Black students.

In the “associate degrees, all disciplines” ranking, five of the top 10 degree-producing institutions were within the Florida Community College System. Likewise, in the “liberal arts and sciences, general studies and humanities” ranking, 10 of the top 11 degree-producing institutions were within the Florida Community College System.

The annual ranking is based on Community College Week’s analysis of U.S. Department of Education data for 2003-04.
