
Florida Community Colelge ranks third in nation for (R.N.) nursing degrees
Florida Community College at Jacksonville
is the third-largest producer of Associate in Science nursing
degrees (R.N.) in the nation, according to an article published
in Community College Week, a weekly publication specializing
in national community college issues. This ranking is up from
fourth the previous year.
Florida Community College is also in
the “top ten” rankings
for three additional categories. It is ranked fourth in the
nation for associate degrees in liberal arts and sciences,
general studies and humanities; sixth in associate degrees
(all disciplines); and seventh in associate degrees in health
professions and related clinical services.
The College also ranked eleventh in the total number of one-year
certificates issued and twelfth in the nation for the number
of associate degrees conferred upon Black students.
In the “associate degrees, all disciplines” ranking,
five of the top 10 degree-producing institutions were within
the Florida Community College System. Likewise, in the “liberal
arts and sciences, general studies and humanities” ranking,
10 of the top 11 degree-producing institutions were within
the Florida Community College System.

College Week’s
analysis of U.S. Department of Education data for 2003-04.
