Florida Community College approves appointment of director of athletics
The District Board of Trustees of Florida Community College at Jacksonville has approved the appointment
of George Sanders to the position of director of athletics and physical education, effective mid-December. Sanders replaces
retiring Athletic Director Ralph Daniel.
Sanders was previously director of athletics at Manatee Community College in Bradenton for more than 10
years. He has been with MCC since 1987.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health, Physical education and Recreation
from Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee and a Master of Science degree in Health, Physical education and
Recreation from the University of Georgia in Athens.
Sanders will report to Interim South Campus President Nancy Yurko.
