
Florida Community College announces Faculty Award winners for 2005
Florida Community College has announced the names of eight faculty
members as recipients of annual awards that recognize excellence
in teaching.
Winners of the Outstanding Faculty Award are Rosalie Abraham,
Professor of Mathematics at North Campus, Suzanne Hess, Professor
of English at Kent Campus, and Richard Lee, Professor of Mathematics
at Downtown Campus.
The Marcus Drewa Endowed Chair for Excellence in Instruction
Supporting Health Care and Natural Sciences is awarded to Professor
Merry Carter, North Campus.
The Roland S. Kennedy Endowed Excellence in Instruction Supporting
Business Education is awarded to Professor Andrea McKeon, Downtown
Campus.
The Dr. Clyde B. Lipscomb Chair for Excellence in Instruction
Supporting Nursing Education and Natural Sciences is awarded
to Professor Barbie Baker, North Campus.
The Nathan H. Wilson Endowed Chair for Community Leadership
in Minority Affairs was awarded to Professor Sharette Simpkins,
North Campus.
Winner of the Innovative Technology Award is Charles Phillips,
Professor of Computer and Information Systems, South Campus.
The eight award winners will be officially recognized when the
College holds its annual Convocation at South Campus in August.
