In this third year of the Bethel
Baptist-Florida Community College joint summer school
project, 596 students are enrolled to advance to the
next grade or complete their graduation requirements.
The success rate in the past two years has been significant,
with between 94 percent and 96 percent of students attaining
an A, B or C average in their classes and successfully
moving ahead. Parents of the students, Bethel Baptist
senior pastors, Duval County School Board members and
College officials are scheduled to attend and be briefed
on the progress by summer school Director Pat Wade and
Downtown Campus President Edythe Abdullah.
Most of the nearly 600 students will attend, and some
of those students will be receiving awards for their
accomplishments.
Members of the media are invited to attend. |
