Raise the Bar on Patient Outcomes:
Florida Community College’s Annual Excellence in Nursing Conference, May 10

Nationally known Linda Aiken, Ph.D., R. N., award-winning researcher, writer regarded as one of the most influential people in health care to deliver keynote address

The Florida Community College at Jacksonville Department of Nursing will host the second annual Excellence in Nursing Conference on May 10, 2005, at the Radisson Riverwalk Hotel. The focus of this conference will be Quality, Patient Safety and Improved Patient Outcomes. Keynote Speaker will be Linda Aiken, Ph.D., R.N.

Aiken is a professor of Nursing and director of the Center for Health Outcomes and Policy Research at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. She was ranked as number 10 on Modern Healthcare Magazine’s list of the 100 Most Powerful People in Healthcare. She is also a 2003 Codman Award winner as recognized by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, and is considered the “single most influential nurse leader and researcher in the field of nursing outcomes research.”

Regarding Continuing Education credits: The program is approved for 6.0 contact hours for nurses through the Florida State Board of Nursing (Provider Number 50-704).

Early registration for the conference (postmarked by April 22) is $100; registration April 23 or later is $125. Continental breakfast, program syllabus and a networking luncheon are included in the registration fee. Registration may be by check or credit card.
