
One of graphic designer and guest instructor
David Plunkert’s most recent works is the basis of an
interdisciplinary project for students of Digital Media Arts
and English Composition at Florida Community College’s South
Campus.
The results of this collaboration of literature and design,
referred to as Visualize the Metaphor, will be on exhibit at
the Wilson Center Art Gallery March 8-12. Also on exhibit will
be works from Spur Design, a design firm founded by Plunkert
and his wife, Joyce Hesselberth. Plunkert will provide a free
lecture on March 9 at 7 p.m.
Spur has been featured in articles by the Baltimore Sun, Graphis,
Print, and Step-By-Step. Several of Spur’s posters are included
in the permanent collections of the Library of Congress as
well as in the collection of the Cooper-Hewitt National Design
Museum and The Museum fur Kunst und Gerwerbe Hamburg.
