
This summer, Florida Community College is offering numerous daytime courses designed to enrich the lives of older adults. Classes meet at the FCCJ Deerwood Center, 9911 Old Baymeadows Rd.
Beginning Computers for Seniors introduces students to mouse and keyboard functions, file and document management and email operations. Classmeets Wednesdays, May 19 – June 9, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Cost is $55.
Tai Chi, an ancient exercise suitable for all ages and physical conditions, meets on Mondays, May 17 – July 19, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuition is $65.
Yoga and Meditation meets on Tuesdays, May 18 – July 6, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This class is designed to improve strength, flexibility and balance. Cost is $45.
Basic Still Life Drawing explores the concepts of line, form, light and shading using charcoal and still life composition. Class meets Thursdays, May 20 – June 24, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Cost is $40.
Everyday Spanish will teach students common Spanish phrases and commands. Class meets on Wednesdays, May 26 – June 30, from 10 a.m. to noon. Tuition is $55.
Computer Basics en Español, a beginning level computer course for Spanish-speaking students, meets Tuesdays, June 1 – 15, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuition is $69.
