Florida Community College’s
Kent Campus is sponsoring a free open house for those interested
in exploring a career in legal studies on April 8 at 6 p.m. in
Bldg. “F,” Room 128. Representatives from
the College’s Legal Studies Institute will be on hand to
describe and answer questions about the programs and courses, along
with financial aid opportunities. Locally there is a critical need
for trained professionals, according to Elaine Puri, director of
Legal Studies.
The College offers an associate in science or associate in applied
science degree in Legal Assisting. The programs are appropriate
for those who want to work as paraprofessionals in the legal or
criminal justice fields. This Legal Assisting program is the only
such local program approved by the American Bar Association.
A Legal Secretary program is also offered at Kent Campus. This
certificate program prepares students who want to work in the highly
specialized legal field as secretaries, and is an excellent stepping-stone
to a higher-paying career.
Kent Campus is located at 3939 Roosevelt Blvd.
