Florida Community College “Career Showcase” for high school students
Half-day tours introduce prospective students to programs, campuses and careers

Florida Community College is hosting five career exploration events for high school juniors and seniors throughout the month of February. Student groups from surrounding high schools are invited to spend a half-day on campus “Backstage Tours” visiting labs and studios, as well as talking to students, faculty and staff about career fields of interest to them. Schools will provide bus transportation to the campuses. Students are invited to attend individually even if their school is not sponsoring the tour as a field trip; however, they must reserve a space by Jan. 30.

North Campus (4501 Capper Rd.) is hosting Backstage Tours on two dates. The Feb. 5 tour will focus on programs in health care, dental care, food and hospitality, cosmetology, law enforcement and criminal justice. The Feb. 19 tour will focus on health care, dental care, law enforcement and criminal justice.

South Campus (11901 Beach Blvd.) will host a Backstage Tour on Feb. 10, aiming the spotlight on programs in computer technology, video, animation and graphic design, sign language, fine arts, performing arts, journalism and communications.

Kent Campus (3939 Roosevelt Blvd.) offers its Backstage Tour on Feb. 12 featuring programs in law, business and finance, marketing, aviation, computer technology, interior design and education.

Downtown Campus (101 W. State St.) programs will be highlighted on Feb. 24 with presentations on computer technology, business, construction, metal trades, automotive and diesel technologies, education and child care, architecture, engineering and manufacturing.

Students are scheduled to arrive at 8:30 a.m. for tours. The College will provide lunch at the campuses. Students will leave at noon to return to their schools. For reservations (required) or more information call 904.646.2398.
