Florida Community College to welcome Senator Ken Pruitt at Oct. 13 reception
Bright Futures, Florida Prepaid scholarship programs on agenda

Florida Community College will play host to Senator Ken Pruitt (R., Dist. 28), Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee on Oct. 13 at 2:30 p.m. in Room T-140 at the College’s Advanced Technology Center.

Sen. Pruitt is traveling around the state in a yellow school bus known as the “Bright Futures Express.” On his tour he is encouraging community college leadership—presidents, trustees, administrators, faculty and students—to promote the preservation of the Bright Futures Scholarship and the Florida Prepaid Scholarship Program. Sen. Pruitt, a certificate holder from Indian River Community College, is visiting each of the state’s 28 community colleges through November.

Sen. Pruitt’s scheduled one-and-one-half-hour visit is expected to be attended by local legislators and community leaders.

The Advanced Technology Center is located at 401 W. State Street, adjacent to the Downtown Campus at State and Pearl streets. (Attendees may enter parking lots from either Pearl or Broad streets.)
