
Florida Community College introduces Catering technical
certificate program
Florida Community College is introducing a new option for
students interested in rapid entry into a career in Food and
Beverage Management. The technical certificate program in Catering
is offering an Information Session on Dec. 9 at 6:30 p.m. in
the Mallard Room, Bldg. E, at the College's North Campus.
Attendees will meet with a representative
from the College’s Institute of the South for Hospitality and
Culinary Arts to tour the classrooms and labs. They will learn
about the training needed to get started in a catering career.
The Catering Certificate program provides students with basic
catering and management skills for a career in the Food Service
and Hospitality Industry, one of the largest and fastest-growing
in Florida. Courses include Food Production, Sanitation and
Safety Management, Food and Beverage Purchasing, Catering and
Buffet Management, a Hospitality Internship and other related
courses.
Certificate completers may opt to enter the workforce or continue
their studies toward a degree. The certificate program articulates
directly into the Associate in Science and Associate in Applied
Science degrees in Culinary and Restaurant Management programs.
