First Coast Virtual Job Fair kicks off July 13
Online Handbook New and Improved! Free and available now!
More than 50 employers reviewed more than 900 resumes and job applications during the inaugural First Coast Virtual Job Fair (VJF) in April. Job seekers have a second opportunity to apply for jobs listed online beginning at midnight July 13 and continuing through 11:59 p.m. on July 17. A free training manual, the VJF Handbook, is available now by going to www.fccj.edu and clicking on Events and Information, or at FCCJ Virtual Job Fair.
The Handbook has been enhanced with a video option to guide participants through everything from computer basics to applying for jobs online, preparing resumes, cover letters and thank-you notes — everything to help them get the job they seek.
This is the second First Coast Virtual Job Fair this year, sponsored by First Coast Manufacturers Association (FCMA), JAXPORT, WorkSource and Florida Community College. The Web-based format makes it available 24/7 during that period, offering unmatched convenience for job seekers and employers.
The VJF Handbook is provided by Florida Community College, helping job-seekers to make the best use of the VJF. The College also will provide information on career counseling and training for workers needing to upgrade their present skills. They can also learn about courses to build new skills such as welding, for industries in which there is a demonstrated need for employees.
Industry, educational and media organizations are invited to learn more about how to become involved in this exceptional response to the region’s employment needs by contacting Elizabeth Cochran Brown at WorkSource at 904.798.9229, ext 2212.
