Florida Community College Institute for Financial Studies Certified Financial Planner™ certification education classes begin April 13
Registration continues for courses in Florida Community College’s Institute for Financial Studies (IFS) Financial Planning Certificate program. Classes begin in April and meet once weekly through June. Courses available include Retirement Planning and Employee Benefits (April 13-June 22); Financial Planning: Fundamentals (April 14-June 17); and Investment Planning (April 16-June 18).
Each course costs $495, plus books and a $15 one-time Florida Community College membership fee for new students. Florida Community College’s Financial Planning Certificate Program is registered with the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards. All instructors have earned CFP® (Certified Financial Planner) Certification and currently practice in the field of financial planning. Classes meet at the FCCJ Urban Resource Center (URC).
According to Ronald W. Allen, CFP, director of the College’s IFS, the public is looking for planners who have demonstrated a commitment to competency, and financial professionals want an established certification that sets them apart in a globally expanding financial planning profession. CFP Board research shows consumers increasingly rely on credentials when selecting a financial adviser.
