Florida Community College Speech Forensics Team will present a one-act entitled “Goodbye.” So much emotion said with just one word—goodbye—from family to friends, from lovers to competitors and even the money to which we say goodbye. In life we have to say goodbye in different ways. This Readers Theatre production, compiled from diverse music and literary sources, will explore the art of saying goodbye. “Goodbye” is directed by Kristopher Copeland, professor of Communications and director of the Speech Forensics program.
FCCJ DramaWorks will present a one-act version of “Killing Game” by Eugene Ionesco. “Killing Game” is one of Eugene Ionesco’s lesser produced, but still profound brilliant literary metaphors. Set in a “regular” city, timeless in its presentation but relevant to any age, the play is an examination of the hypocrisies, foibles, and sheer corruption of the human spirit facing undeniable doom. The play is considered one of the most creative from this absurdist playwright; using all manner of standard and unique playwriting conventions to explore human nature as it confronts its own possible extinction. “Killing Game” is directed by FCCJ Adjunct Professor of Theatre and guest artist Brian Natale.
