Kelly Warren
College-wide Coordinator of Student Life and Leadership Development

Number of years at FCCJ: 16

Kelly is the college-wide coordinator of Student Life and Leadership Development and currently works at Kent Campus. In her position she serves as the college-wide contact for Student Life and helps to coordinate all college-wide programs, in addition to coordinating the programs at Kent Campus. Kelly’s responsibilities include strategically planning, implementing and evaluating a co-curricular events calendar that reaches all aspects of our population, supervising management of the student activity center, campus museum and gallery, game room and fitness center. She’s also responsible for advising several student organizations, including the Student Government Association, Student Programming Board, Volunteer Center and facilitating leadership development programs for both students and staff. Kelly has a teaching background as well and taught English and leadership development classes on a community college level for nearly two decades.

Kelly is married and has beautiful four-year-old twin daughters. In her spare time (I’m told she doesn’t sleep), she is a small business owner and sole designer of Happy Shack Designs, an artisan jewelry and accessories company. She also runs a Web site promoting and encouraging local artists called the First Coast Art Spot which was started in June of this year. Kelly also has a love of athletics, having been a student athlete on the state competitive level in high school and in the intramural level in college, and she has completed one marathon in Alaska and several triathlons around the state of Florida.

Kelly earned her Master of Arts degree in English with an emphasis in Non-Fiction Writing from Florida State University in 1992. She also has a B.S. in Communications from Florida State University and an A.A. degree from none other than FCCJ Kent Campus (it was Florida Junior College at the time).
