Internet Dial-up System

Windows 95

Access to to the Internet though Windows 95 is described below in two separate parts: I. Creating a Dial-up Connection:

1. Select ‘START’
2. Select ‘Programs’ 
3. Select ‘Accessories’
4. Select ‘Dial-Up Networking.’

NOTE: If ‘Dial-up Networking’ is not listed then try the following: Select the ‘My Computer’ icon on the desktop, and then select the ‘Dial-up Networking’ icon. If it still isn’t appearing, then the ‘Dial-up Networking’ option  was not loaded during installation of Windows 95, and will need to be added through the control panel with ‘Add/Remove Programs.’

5. Select ‘Make New Connection’



6. Type in ‘FCCJ Internet Access’



NOTE: Make sure a modem is selected in the ‘Select a modem’ box.

7. Select ‘Next’
8. Type ‘904’ in the area code box.
9. Type ‘641-4267’ in the Telephone number box.

10. Select ‘Next’
11. Select ‘Finish’



II. Using the Dial-Up Connection:

1. Select ‘FCCJ Internet Access’



2. Replace whatever maybe currently in the ‘User name:’ box with your FCCJ student login id.
3. Type your password into the ‘Password:’ box.



4. Select ‘Connect.’
5. The ‘Connecting to FCCJ Internet Access’ box should appear as your connection is established.



Start your network browser (Netscape/Internet Explorer).

7. Done
