Faculty and Staff

Maia Longenecker
Program Facilitator

Maia is in her first year working at FCCJ’s Outdoor Education Center. She is a graduate from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 2002 with a B.F.A. in Fine Arts and a Minor in Geography. Maia worked most summers during college as a Ropes Course Director for various camps in Pennsylvania. She taught art in her local home town of Honesdale, PA for a year before she left for the Peace Corps in November of 2003. After finishing her service with the Peace Corps, she spent four months slowly making her way home via India and South East Asia.

Maia currently works as an Education Coordinator for Outward Bound Discovery. She most enjoys traveling, backpacking, swimming, skiing, drawing and painting. Her love of the outdoors comes from growing up in the beautiful Pocono Mountains near the Delaware River where she spent her summers camping and kayaking with her family.
