Joint Admissions

These agreements provide students in a specific associate degree program with opportunities for joint admission into a specific major at a specific college or university. Joint Admission programs tend to be more strictly defined than traditional articulation agreements. For example, student's eligibility for the joint admissions program may require a higher GPA than admission through regular application procedures.

This type of agreement guarantees students acceptance to specific programs at certain institutions upon completion of an associate's degree. However, the key to this type of agreement is determining your transfer institution very early and applying for joint admission as soon as you're accepted at Florida Community College.

Tips on transferring to a college without an articulation agreement

Florida Community College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) so many of Florida Community College courses should transfer to colleges and universities across the United States.  However, it is up to each individual school to decide what courses they will and won't accept, especially if you transfer to a school outside of the state of Florida.  If you are interested in transferring to an institution that Florida Community College does not have an articulation agreement with , the first step would be to contact that school.  The Admissions or Registrar staff should be able to tell you about their transfer policy.  They may ask to see a copy of Florida Community College's course descriptions to get an idea about the course.  Florida Community College's catalog is available on-line so the school can easily reference course information.  Once you complete the courses you would need to request an official copy of your Florida Community College transcript.

If you are interested in a Florida Community College Program of Study or a College/University major that is not listed, please contact a Florida Community College advisor or counselor for more information.
