Organizational Learning Services

Organizational Learning Services facilitates the integration of learning and motivation research and theory and technology into instruction throughout the college. This includes responsibility for the development of college-wide guidelines for the development of online and hybrid/blended courses, online courses under the FutureClass Project, and for the development of courses capable of delivery in all modes through the SIRIUS Project. This latter project is a joint endeavor with McGraw-Hill Learning Solutions. In addition, the office coordinates and provides professional development opportunities for faculty and staff college-wide, and administers the Online Professor Certificate Program, the Classroom Professor Certification Program, and the Faculty Certificate in Hybrid/Blended Course Delivery. Currently under development for implementation Summer, 2008, is the Dean’s Professional Development Program.

The executive director chairs the Steering Committee of the Learning Futures Group, concerned with College-wide planning and facilitation of the uses of learning and motivation research and theory and technology to enhance student learning. The executive director also serves as the co-chair of the annual International Conference on College Teaching and Learning and as an ex-officio member of the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning, the conference sponsor.
