Business Administration

Business is likely to be one of the most popular careers on any college campus. This is because a business degree affords so many career possibilities with a wide range of income potential. Whether you are interested in climbing the corporate ladder, managing a small business or starting your own company, a business education will provide you with a solid foundation.

Florida Community College offers two options for earning your degree in business administration and both programs are accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs.

The associate in applied science (A.A.S.) degree in business administration degree prepares you for immediate entry into the workforce. This program covers the numbers' side of business – accounting and economics - along with communications skills, such as management and marketing finesse. Upon program completion, job opportunities are available on the business side of virtually every company in every industry.

The associate in science (A.S.) degree in business administration degree is designed to both prepare you for entry into the workplace as well as to allow you to continue your education towards a bachelor’s degree. This program provides you with a solid business foundation and the general education courses necessary to successfully transfer to a university to earn a bachelor's degree in business administration (B.B.A.)

An integral part of both programs is the internship experience.

Are you interested in fast tracking your education? The accelerated business administration A.S. to B.S. program takes just 18 months or less to complete. Using an accelerated eight-week session format, this program allows part-time students to complete a degree 50 percent faster than the traditional format. This option is ideal for the adult student. Classes are delivered in a blended format, with one class a week on campus and the balance online. This makes it easier to achieve your degree while working or caring for your family. Students take two classes per session and often move through the program together as a group. If you have previous college credits or if you have applicable work or military experience, you may get credit for certain courses and finish the program earlier. You may also exempt some courses by passing the College Level Examination Program (CLEP ), the Dantes Subject Standardized Test (DSST), the Excelsior or Proficiency Exam Program (PEP) exams, or by transferring your American Council on Education (ACE) corporate training and/or certificates.

Are you looking for certificate options? Florida Community College again affords you choices – business operations, business management, marketing, and small business (entrepreneurship).
