Learning Center

College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) Certification

The Kent Learning Center has earned a certification by the College Reading & Learning Association (CRLA) for its Tutor Training Program. This certification by College Reading & Learning Association (CRLA), which is transferable to other institutions, enables the Learning Center to certify you on Regular, Advanced, or Master tutor levels. To this end, the Learning Center provides workshops and guided study using the text and video tutor resources on reserve in the Kent Library. You will also be asked to keep a record of your tutoring time and participate in a regular job evaluation by your supervisor. The tutor training workshops, (General and Supervisor) record keeping, evaluations, and participation toward the Regular level I of certification will be required of everyone. Tutors wishing to be certified on the Advanced (Level II) and Master (III) levels will need to fulfill additional requirements.
