College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) Certification

Foreign Lanuage Criteria

Student name ______________________________________________ Date ____________________

Subject area coordinator ______________________________________________________________

Prospective student tutors must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Interview with subject area coordinator
  • And one of the following:
    • Written approval of a content area/skill instructor (attached)
    • Endorsement of subject area coordinator (see below)
    • Grade of “A” or “B” in subject area being tutored OR documented experience in subject area equivalent to “A” or “B” grade
      • Grades attached
      • Experience documentation attached
  • Student is taking at least 6 credit hours at Florida Community College
  • Student has completed all forms required by student employment office
  • Student must demonstrate acceptable tutoring skills
  • Student must have a grade of “A” in two consecutive foreign language classes, or prove fluency
  • Student must perform well on a grammar test, and show computer proficiency
  • Student must commit to the tutor guidelines used in the foreign language lab
