Learning Center

Business/Accounting Resources and Lab

Welcome to the Business lab. We tutor all business related subjects including financial accounting, managerial accounting, statistics, economics, and business calculus. Students are welcome anytime; tutors are available according to the schedule. The schedule is posted in business classrooms, and the Learning Center. The schedule, which is available in the revolving display rack beside the water fountain, also indicates which tutor is proficient in each subject area. Students are helped on an as needed basis. No appointments are necessary. You may also call 904.381.3650 to get questions answered. Keep in mind that your phone call must be kept to a minimum to allow others to call, too.

Resources
We keep all current textbooks for the most popular business classes on hand in the Lab. In addition, we have solution manuals and study guides for those texts used on Kent Campus. We try to order textbooks and solution manuals for classes held at other campuses but call first to see if we have ordered the books and received them. We usually have the current intermediate accounting books and solutions used at UNF, also. All current books, manuals, and study guides are available to the students with ID for use in the Learning Center. You cannot checkout any current curriculum.
Past textbooks, etc. are kept on the bookshelves and most can be checked out with permission from the business lab coordinator. Some accounting videos are available and may be checked out with proper ID. Although they do not match the current textbooks, they do cover the same material and could possibly help you better understand a concept.
One of the most popular resources in the Business Lab are notebooks filled with past tests, projects and quizzes. We have notebooks for Financial accounting, Managerial accounting, Professor Probst’s Economics I and II, Professor Jackson’s Economics I, Statistics tests and handouts for Dr. Kovaly, Dr. Miller, and Dr. Millard. Another popular resource includes the test banks for accounting from the previous textbooks. Although we can’t give you the current test bank, as long as we have been working in accounting, we can assure you that the questions and problems haven’t changed! It will help you with test taking strategy and help you become familiar with how accounting tests read.
