Katie Meyer-Griffith is the Counselor Coordinator of the Kent Campus Career Development Center (CDC). Katie has been in the Career Development field for seven years. Before working at Florida State College at Jacksonville, she worked at The Florida State University Career Center as a Career Advisor, Career Counselor, and Coordinator of Career Development. In addition, she taught the undergraduate Introduction to Career Development course at FSU. Her passion is helping individuals discover their career interests and connecting them with educational programs and occupations. She has published work on online portfolios, communication apprehension and career thoughts, and Holland’s RIASEC career theory. In addition, Katie has presented her research at both regional and national conferences.
Katie has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Central Florida. She attended Florida State University for graduate school where she earned a Master’s in Education and a Specialist in Education in Counseling and Human Systems with a specialization in Career Counseling. Katie is a Nationally Certified Counselor and a Distance Credentialed Counselor. |

Karen Palato has worked at the Kent Campus Career Development Center for over three years. Karen assists students explore their careers by assisting them with career assessments, finding occupational information, and using the career resource library. Before working in the Career Development Center, Karen worked at the Florida State College at Jacksonville Women’s Center. Karen has also worked as a GED Specialist in the Florida State College at Jacksonville Assessment and Certification Center where she worked with adults who were pursuing their educational goals of obtaining their GED.
Karen completed the Office Systems Technology program at Florida State College at Jacksonville at Jacksonville. In 2008, Karen received the Career Employee Council Excellence Award for her dedication to students and Florida State College at Jacksonville.
