Departments/Programs: Division of Liberal Arts
Humanities courses form a core of interrelated studies
designed to help individuals make informed aesthetic and ethical judgments
about creative
contributions of diverse world cultures and to assure reading
and writing competencies essential for an educated person in an increasingly
specialized
society. The courses are intended to provide individuals a
contact with a breath of ideas beyond the narrow confines of specialized
training.
Associate in Arts Degree (A.A.)
The associate in arts degree is the most common community college degree
program. It is a general education degree program for students who intend
to transfer to a university to complete a bachelor’s degree. Earning
a Florida Community College A.A. degree guarantees your admission to a
state university in Florida. Florida Community College also has educational
alliances with several other institutions that fully accept the College’s
degree and credits and will admit our graduates at junior-level standing.
