: A comprehensive home reference that teaches you about your body in sickness and health, presented by The Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.
DIRLINE: Directory of health organizations.
The E: Skeleton’s
Project: The e: Skeletons Project Web site enables you to view the bones of a human, gorilla, and baboon and gather information about them from their osteology database.
Familydoctor.org: Health information for the whole family from the American Academy of Family Physicians. All of the information is written and reviewed by physicians and patient education professionals. Over 500 medical topics.

: Provides consumers with easy access to online, accurate health information.
Interactive Health Tutorials: Online tutorials are interactive health education resources from the Patient Education Institute. Using animated graphics each tutorial explains a procedure or condition in easy-to-read language. You can also listen to the tutorial.
KidsHealth: Site provides doctor: approved health information about children from before birth through adolescence with areas for kids, teens, and parents offering hundreds of in: depth articles and features.
Medconnect: Online resource for medical professionals.
Medical Resources Information for the Consumer
: From the American Library Association, this site is a selected listing of Web resources providing health information for the consumer.
MedicineNet.com: Medical reference site with information on diseases and conditions, medications, and medical dictionary and more.
MedLine Plus Health Information: MEDLINE plus has extensive information from the National Institutes of Health and other trusted sources on over 500 diseases and conditions. There are also lists of hospitals and physicians, a medical encyclopedia and dictionaries, health information in Spanish, extensive information on prescription and nonprescription drugs, health information from the media, and links to thousands of clinical trials.
The Merck Manual
: Site translates the medical jargon from the professional Merck Manual edition into language the rest of us can understand. Search or just browse through the table of contents to find information on diseases, drugs, and medical tests.
The Merck Manual of Geriatrics: Site provides information on nursing care, pharmacy issues, discussions of the best drugs for the elderly. Also included are chapters on dementia, Alzheimer's disease, rehabilitation, respiratory failure, and managed care.

PDR.net: Online home of the PDR.
Pharma: Lexicon.com: Look up medical and pharmaceutical acronyms and abbreviations.
RXList: Internet Drug Index: This site has data on hundreds of pharmaceutical drugs, including warnings, interactions, dosages, and overdose treatments. You can search by name (brand or generic) or imprint code (the numbers and letters stamped on pills and capsules), which can come in handy if you ever find a mysterious tablet in your medicine cabinet.
